Name: Kanaya Maryam Age: 16 AU History: Adopted! And quite alright with that thank you very much. Kanaya's mother chose to never birth any children of her own, adopting Kanaya in their stead. The woman is getting on in years (like 60-70) and rather sickly. Kanaya knows her mom doesn't have much time left (but she's trying to come to terms with that).
School subjects don't interest her outside of English Lit and few niche history lessons, but she toils to keep excellent grades for the sake of it looking good on her transcripts. She wants to be a fashion designer/Anne Rice-esque novelist when she grows up. TOTALLY IN THE GARDENING CLUB WITH JADE and involved with the school newspaper, too. Kanaya is quite a busy body and has a knack for sticking her nose where it doesn't belong, which could prove deadly for her once people start investigating the odd inconsistencies in the town history and such.
She's likely still a bit bitter over her unrequited feelings for Vriska, and could be fostering a crush on Rose. I'm open to whatever ship though, or no ships at all, So Proceed In My Direction Comrade
