15 years ago the city was plagued by a series of mysterious murders. The children of the local elementary school were disappearing, one by one, nothing but a shoe or a shirt to give any trace of their whereabouts. Eventually, a suspect was pinned - without a shadow of a doubt, this man was the culprit - but due to his blood status and a technicality he was allowed free.

The parents of the small town revolted, taking justice into their own hands. The tracked the killer down and murdered him in secret, hiding the body and covering the incident up. The killer merely laughed as he died, swearing revenge upon their children.

Cut ahead to present day. There are strange disrepancies in the records, the children old enough to recall any of the events suspect that something is up. There are photos of children they don't remember playing with in photo albums, the faint, nagging thought that they've forgotten something - not to mention the fact that the last house at the end of the street leave them slightly breathless with terror.

But the younger kids of the town have grown up happy and healthy, unaware of what transpired so long ago.

Other than that, three things to keep in mind:
1. They live on Elm Street (or Street 413 if we want to be extra dorky). They're on Earth. Trolls are still trolls. We can assume that trolls still carry the quadrant system.
2. They attend the same highschool.
3. They've known each other all their lives. Whether they are friends or not is up to you. Past relationships? Current relationships? Go wild. Keep in mind that this is a horror movie AU so if you want characters to be dating? They can totally be dating, so long as you make sure both parties are cool with it and it's not wildly ooc for it to be happening.

Remember. Horror movies are essentially a horrible highschool dramas with murder thrown in.
